Still time to enter writing competition

If you were over the age of 50 on January 1, 2013 and live in Lincolnshire there is still the opportunity to take part in this year’s Age UKs in Lincolnshire Writing and Poetry Competition.

There are six topics to choose from.

Entries can be in the form of a short story, essay or poem up to 1,750 words.

The competition is intended for amateurs and work must not have been previously published elsewhere.

The closing date for entries is Friday April 19 and regional winners will be notified in time to collect their prizes and certificates.

These will be presented at the charity’s annual Summer Festival at Woodhall Spa’s Petwood Hotel on Tuesday June 4.

Entry forms can be obtained from Age UK Lindsey shops in Market Place, Horncastle, Station Road, Woodhall Spa, Eastgate, Louth, and Queen Street, Market Rasen.

They can also be obtained from the Horncastle Access Centre in Horsefair Walk.
