Showroom to open

A bathroom showroom is opening in a key Market Rasen premises that has been empty for several years.

The former Taal restaurant in Queen Street is being taken over by Market Rasen resident Ian McCready, who is opening Bathroom Desires.

Mr McCready, who worked for Mardena-Lindsey bathrooms in South Willingham for 32 years, decided to setup his own business after being made redundant.

And Market Rasen was at the top of Mr Mc Cready’s list of places.

He said: “I live here so want to bring business into the town.

“I’m tired of seeing the high street with empty shops.”

Mr McCready said the success of Market Rasen Business Improvement Group (MR BIG) had also inspired him to set up a business in the town.

He said: “They’re doing a lot to encourage people to shop in Market Rasen.

“The MR BIG markets bring a lot of people to Market Rasen and those people will look in the shops.”

Bathroom Desires will sell a variety of bathrooms for all price ranges, as well as spare parts.

The shop will also sell walk in showers and wet rooms suitable for disabled customers.

Mr McCready said: “I’m going to offer a personal service that you don’t get when you go order online or go to big places.”

Bathroom Desires is open for enquires - pop in or call Ian on 01673 843351.

The showroom will be complete in three to four weeks.
