A MARKET Rasen public house will be roaring into action again this week after closing suddenly a few weeks ago.
The Red Lion in the town’s King Street reopens this Friday, April 1, and new landlady Sharon Davies will be giving a warm welcome to customers old and new.
And as well as a few new faces, there will also be some familiar ones behind the bar.
The bar is well stocked with traditional cask ales, but will now also be offering the likes of Carling, Guinness and Stella to the extended range.
The interior of the pub has been recently very sympathetically renovated.
The spacious interior now also houses a new pool table, which will, hopefully, soon be used by the local pool league – once a team can be found.
“We still see the Red Lion as a traditional pub, having a homely feel with a contemporary twist,” said Sharon, who also runs the Kings Head Hotel in Louth.
“At the moment we will be offering bar snacks and coffee throughout the day too, but in the next few months we plan to install a new kitchen which will enable us to provide a full menu.”
The pub will also be looking to cater for buffets and parties during the daytime or evening.
And for those who want to stay in the town, there are chalet-style hotel rooms on offer priced competitively, to include a continental breakfast.
“The Red Lion is a lovely traditional pub, with a very welcoming atmosphere, on-site car parking and a lovely private outside area,” added Sharon.
“We are looking forward to welcoming everyone and will hopefully, once again, become part of the local community.”
