Following damage at St Barnabas Church in Barnetby last month, one of the offenders has handed over a donation of £20 towards the cost of repairs to the damage caused.

Six windows were broken, a small electric organ was left switched on and youths reportedly climbed on the roof in the incident that appalled church members and villagers.

The police found out the names of 12 boys and girls involved, but a church spokesman said that “repairs are costly with money coming from hard-earned fundraising”.

St Barnabas Church holds its summer fair on Saturday, June 25 at 2pm in the church hall and on the green.

A highlight will be a display of archaeological artefacts from the village by Paul Campbell.

Barnetby Craft Club has raised £150 as a donation to Lindsey Lodge Hospice.
