Ian’s experience strengthens seed firm

Elsham Wolds-based seed specialists GFP Agriculture
recently strengthened its farm trading department with the appointment of Ian Dawson.

Ian is a farm trader at the rapidly expanding young firm with a patch that will include Lincolnshire, Norfolk and the East Riding.

He has extensive experience in the seed industry, clocking up 22 years service with Nickerson Seeds and the Arable Research Centres, before joining the Lincolnshire Machinery Ring five years ago.

Ian said: “I’m looking forward to the new challenge. GFP is a really exciting operation . . . the place has a real buzz about it . . . and I’m really pleased to have been invited to be a part of it.”

GFP Director Matt Phillips said: “We’re delighted that Ian has joined the team.

“He is professional,
technical and conscientious and will represent the firm in the way that we want it to be represented on the farm.”

“He is also well known and respected in the farming industry in the region and his wealth of contacts and knowledge will be a major asset to our business.”

GFP Agriculture was formed in 2010 by the merger of
Barton and Laceby-based Gibson & Faulding with
Phillips Seeds of Ingham near Lincoln.

The firm has developed a state-of-the-art seed cleaning and treatment facility at Elsham Wold, the largest investment of its type in the UK for almost a quarter of a century.
