Representatives from the German retailer will be in Brigg this week for a drop-in consultation day.

It will be held tomorrow (May 26), coinciding with the town’s Thursday market.

A spokesman for Aldi confirmed that the award-winning retailer would be seeking the views of the local community about the company’s plans for a new neighbourhood store.

The proposed supermarket would be located in Bridge Street.

The spokesman said:

“Aldi hopes that the community supports the proposals.

“We feel a new Aldi in Brigg would be a welcome addition, bringing quality produce at discount prices.”

The supermarket chain says it is committed to recruiting local people to work in the store, should planning permission be granted by North Lincolnshire Council’s planning committee.

The spokesman added: “Aldi have made a commitment to local recruitment and further details will be made at the consultation.”

To express your views on the proposals, you can go along to the Angel Suite between 2pm and 7pm.

Representatives will be on hand to answer any questions.
