Oh flip, pancake day is just around the corner. But don’t fret, an Osgodby entrepreneur has the answer to your kitchen nightmare.

Don’t fancy picking up the frying pan on Tuesday, March 4? Don’t worry, Crepe Lucette is opening up a pop-up creperie in Market Rasen for the day to help ensure your pancake doesn’t get stuck to the pan, or worse, the ceiling.

Crepe Lucette proprietor Lucie Mountain has teamed up with Community Learning In Partnership (CLIP) at the Arena Cafe in Queen Street to offer people freshly made crepes on pancake day between 10am and 7pm.

As well as feeding the hungry Market Rasen public the pop-up event will give some of CLIP’s young students the chance to gain some valuable work experience on the day and takings from any drinks
sold will go to the organisation.

Lucie said: “I saw Arena Cafe sitting there not being used and I thought, what a perfect opportunity to open it up as a pop up creperie and bring crepes into the centre of Market Rasen for Pancake Day.

“Everybody can come down and join in the fun and we’ll be open for lunch and dinner.”

All the sweet and savoury crepes are made using stoneground organic flour from Mount Pleasant Windmill in Kirton Lindsey and other ingredients are also sourced locally.

Lucie, who completed
her crepe training in
Brittany ,added: “I am a
great believer in promoting local produce and businesses and offering something unique and positive to
the Market Rasen community, ”

Crepe Lucette hosted a successful pop-up restaurant at Sunnyside-up Cafe last year and also featured for a month at the Trinity Kitchen street food event in Leeds in December.

Lucie started out with
a pitch on the MR BIG
market, but such is the demand for her crepes, she began focussing on the business full-time
last September and is going from strength to strength.
