Visiting theatre company Box Clever brought Shakespeare to life with their performance of Macbeth at Caistor Yarborough Academy.

Box Clever performed a contemporary adaptation of Macbeth to year 9, bringing the text to life in advance of studying the play in English in year 10.

The actors entertained year 7 students with a workshop to give a general introduction to playwright, his plots and the language helping the students to understand the themes running through a variety of the plays.

The workshop also included a brief discussion about when Shakespeare wrote his plays, bringing context to the pieces.
