Brigg Town Partnership has received a grant of £2,000 to help with the cost of staging a programme of events around the town to help increase footfall to the shopping area.
The money is a share of the £100,000 North Lincolnshire Council has awarded to local community groups and individuals from its Community Grant Fund.
North Lincolnshire Professional Arts Consortium (NLPAC) has also received a share of the pot, being awarded £4,800 to help provide workshops and events over a 12-month period, with an aim of developing a new performance similar to Cycle Song.
“There are some fantastic groups in North Lincolnshire that do a lot for their community and we, as a council, aim to do all we can to support them,” said Brigg councillor Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for customer services, sport and leisure.
“The Community Grant Fund not only supports local groups but individuals as well to help them achieve to the best of their ability.”
The Community Capital Grant Programme helps community sport, art or heritage capital projects.
Any groups who think they could benefit from the Community Grant Fund can apply today for the next set of hand outs.
