Applicant Sarah Scott Smith asked for the green light to change 30 South Street back into a shop, after it was made into a residential dwelling back in 2002.

The plannning application states: “The shop will be a ‘destination’ shop rather than everyday retail relying on passing and local trade; it is hoped this will bring new visitors to Caistor which should in turn support other businesses in the locality, and maybe even encourage other new shops to open in Caistor and revitalise this beautiful but currently very quiet little town centre.”

The building is located just off Market Place and is Grade two listed. The shop will be open four or five days per week, according to the application.
