Spring Ladies Wear in Market Rasen is to close to make room for an expanded health and beauty operation.

Owner of both businesses, Sally Cordell, says her Spring Beauty Room needs to expand and closing the clothes shop sited next door was the “obvious solution.”

“There will be new treatments (launched) in the next couple of weeks,” said Sally.

“There’s a lot of work to do inside the building before it is ready. Hopefully, it will give customers more choice. We are always fully booked and customers get fed up with it.”

Sally says her two staff in the clothes shop will be kept on, with them moving over to the beauty room, which will still sell Joules clothing and some accessories from a downstairs area. The expanding business also seeks two extra therapists.

“It’s been around 16 years and it’s been a good business. Closing the clothes store is sad but the business is moving forward. I have met many loyal customers over the years. Hopefully, they will use the expanded beauty salon,” she said.

Meanwhile, Sally’s other business, The March Hare, is also set to expand. West Lindsey District Council has given planning permission for a B&B operation upstairs.

Sally says new flooring has to be installed but the four rooms should be available in the next six weeks, which would have the same “new and contemporary feel” as the cafe/wine bar downstairs.
