More than £1,160 was raised when St Martin’s Church held a Sunday brunch morning.
As this was the ninth event to be held, and with a growing reputation for an excellent meal, there were plenty of customers happy to accept the invitation.
A huge amount of work goes into the organisation of the event and, with no water on tap at the church, those involved have to improvise.
The organisers have lots of help and support from within the village and friends from other villages, too.
The barbecue was set up in the churchyard to help with cooking and the washing up done in bowls on tables, but the team of volunteers were well rewarded by the success of what, once again, proved to be a very happy and successful social occasion.
In addition, there were stalls selling cakes, plants and books, all helping towards the total proceeds. Thanks are extended to all who contributed in any way.
