BMX plans back on the right track

A NEW BMX track will be built in Mill Road Playing Field, Market Rasen Town Councillors agreed for a second time last week.

And members of the town authority will be hoping the project is more successful this time around, as construction of a dirt track for BMX bikes had to be halted in 2010 after asbestos was found in the soil.

The new dirt track will feature humps and ramps for children aged over eight to use.

Coun Steve Bunney said: “Young people have approached Coun Margaret Lakin–Whitworth to say they would like some small scale humps to ride their BMXs up and down.

“It is important we do it this time so we know the soil is the right soil. There would be a small cost but not much. It will give the kids an extra facility.”
