A total of £650 has been handed over to the British Red Cross by Caistor in Bloom from the fifth consecutive Open Gardens/Scarecrow Trail held in June, which saw more than 20 gardens open to well over 200 paying visitors who travelled from far and wide to support this worthy cause.

A Gardeners Fair was also held on both days with a book signing by Sophie Chalmers - author of ‘In Bloom’ - on the Sunday.

Plans are to repeat the event next year, with the dates of June 27 and 28 2015 being pencilled in, when the scarecrow theme will be Cartoon Characters and Royalty.

Any Caistor resident wishing to take part in any way should call 01472 851883 or visit www.caistorinbloom.co.uk
