Three rural charities have been given a cash boost by racegoers at Market Rasen Racecourse.

More than £12,000 was raised at the Lincolnshire Rural Charities Day, to be shared between Lincolnshire Rural Support Network, Lincolnshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.

“It’s been fantastic to work with three proactive and worthy charities who support and promote farming and the countryside,” said Pip Kirkby, general manager of the racecourse.

“I am delighted they managed to raise so much money at the course, which coincided with our countryside day and hope it will encourage other rural business to help their causes.”
