Better outlook for residents

Residents at Waterloo House in Market Rasen are having their once drab garden fence turned into a visual delight.

Phase one has seen the town’s community painting group create a bright and cheerful Mad Hatter’s Tea Party mural.

And one resident in particular was delighted to see the finished result.

“It is beyond my expectations,” said Raymond Collison, who had instigated the project.

“On behalf of all the residents I would like to thank them for their hard work; I am absolutely over the moon.”

The painters will now be continuing their work on the remaining fence panels, creating shop fronts.

They have also been asked to create a Nativity scene for Christmas.

“The mural is so bright and colourful; it sparks lots of conversations,” said home manager Viv Hildred.

“I would like to thank Jenny Stimson from Tesco Market Rasen who helped by putting us in touch with the group.”

And thanks were also given to everyone who supported the recent summer fete.

The event raised £604.22, which will be used to create a raised sensory garden
border along the length of the fence.
