If you have been inspired by the Great British Bake Off to make a meringue, cook a chocolate show stopper or bake a Battenberg, one Market Rasen group could provide you with an outlet for your new found passion.
Every Friday the Country Market team sell their wares in the town’s Salvation Army Centre and they are looking for more people to join them.
“We have a good core of regular customers but need more bakers,” said Georgi Rawlins, who has belonged to the market for more than 20 years.
“Maybe there are people who enjoy baking, but the family has left home so they can’t bake as often or maybe there are people new to baking and want an outlet for their talents.
“Being part of the market is a way to enjoy baking a make a little bit of money ut of it as well.
“You can also stay on the diet but still do the baking.”
To bake for the market you have to be a member - which has a five pence one-off joining fee.
And there is plenty of guidance on offer on packaging.
But Georgi says the market is more than the selling.
“It is the enjoyment of getting together each week and knowing people enjoy what we are making.”
To find out more, drop in on a Friday morning or call either Joan Edwards on 01673 842559 or Georgi Rawlins on 01652 678124.
The market is holding a tasting session next Friday, October 31, and they will also be taking Christmas orders from that date.
