A new service to help older people begins in Market Rasen today (Wednesday).

The town’s Age UK Lindsey shop, on the corner of Queen Street and Union street, holds the first of its monthly Help Desk events this morning.

The sessions are a chance to go along and get help and advice on a range of issues.

Information and Advice Officer Karen Parsons will be on hand at the drop-in sessions, which run from 10am to 12 noon.

So whether it is benefits and entitlements, residential care or local services you want to know more about, call in to see her.

Karen was also in town for the Big Chinwag event held at the shop earlier this summer.

She is pictured above, third from the right, with shop staff and volunteers.

The Chinwag saw the Age UK Lindsey shop transform into a pop-up tea shop for the day and offer tea, cake and a friendly chat - as well as helping to highlight issues of loneliness felt by many older and more vulnerable people.

For more information about what Age UK Lindsey offers call in on the second Wednesday of each month to speak to Karen or call 01507 525892.
