A refreshed clubhouse and faster green

Hard work and determination from a band of volunteers is putting Market Rasen Bowls Club in tip top condition for this year’s season.

The clubhouse has been refreshed and renovated, while the green has been given a good deal of ‘tlc’ to help pick up the pace.

“We started back in October by replacing the wooden green edges and when it got colder moved indoors to work on the clubhouse,” said secretary Gary Eastburn.

“I’m really pleased members have worked together to refurbish the clubhouse to make it fresher and more welcoming.

“And we would also like to thank Travis Perkins for their sponsorship through very generous discounts for materials needed.”

But it isn’t just the clubhouse that has been worked on, a lot of time has been spent on the playing area too.

“We have done a lot of work on the green to pick up the pace and make it a faster playing surface, which will please a lot of people, especially our female players” added Gary.

Now the club, which has once again entered the West Wolds Evening League, as well as two afternoon leagues, is looking for new members to join them.
