New at Rasen Hub this month is A Beginner’s Course in Researching your Family History

Starting on Friday January 15, 10.30am to 12.30pm, the course will run for five weeks.

Topics will include: introduction to family history - dos and don’ts; researching and recording information; birth, marriage and death certificates; census information; practical work, computers and microfiche at the library, websites, books, magazines, societies, archives and FAQs.

The cost is £30 per person for the full course, including all handouts and a drink.

Herbal Workshop - Tuesday, January 19, 7pm to 9pm

Join Herbalist, Ali English for a workshop on seasonal herbal medicine, working with herbs commonly available at each month of the year. January will feature spice cabinet remedies easily available even in the coldest, darkest parts of the year. Take along your own jars and bottles. All other materials will be supplied. Cost £15 per session.

Craft Workshop: Straw Plaiting - Wednesday, January 27, 1.30pm to 3.30pm

Cost £5 including all materials and a cuppa.

Domestic Abuse Service

Confidential advice on a one to one basis. First Monday of each month. Drop in and ask to see Yvonne, between 10am and 1pm.

Citizens Advice Bureau

Drop in and appointment service - for details call the Hub and for appointments ring 03444 111444.

Market Rasen Mail

Drop in on a Friday morning, between 10am and 1pm to speak to a member of the editorial team. Sessions restart on January 8.

Inspire! Creative Wellbeing

A friendly and informal group using creativity to improve quality of life for those who struggle with anxiety, low self esteem, stress, lack of confidence, depression etc. Meets every Tuesday between 1pm and 3pm. No need to book, just go along.

Volunteering Access Points

If you want to know more about volunteering, pop along for advice from a friendly advisor. Support is also offered to Community Organisations. Drop in on Wednesday, January 6, between 10am and 12noon for an introduction to microvolunteering and many other subjects. Find more information on www.voluntarycentreservices.org.uk/
