AT ABOUT 8.30pm on Wednesday March 3 three men called at the house of a 71-year-old man at The Crescent in Wragby and asked him if he wanted to buy some fruit and vegetables.

Whilst one of the men engaged the occupant in conversation, it is believed another went to the rear of the premises but no entry was gained as the rear door was locked.

The men are described as: 1) the man who knocked on the door was 6ft tall wearing dark clothing with a hood and yellow fluorescent jacket. 2) the one who went to the rear of the premises was 5ft 5" tall in dark clothing. There was no description of the third man. The men left the scene in a vehicle of which there is no description, other than it sounded high-powered. Nothing is believed to have been stolen.

The investigating officers are looking into the possibility this incident may be linked to a similar incident in Horncastle at about the same time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police on 0300 111 0300 quoting incident number 407 of 3 March 2010.
