UPDATED, Friday 4pm: Prince William turned a few heads when he popped into a Market Rasen area pub last night Thursday, for a meal and a pint or two of cider - with the Red Arrows.
The Reds were already booked into the Bottle and Glass at Scothern for one of their team meals, but no one at the village pub had any idea of who the 13th diner was.

"It was totally unexpected, but really lovely though," said manager Kate Williams.

The fact that the Reds were such frequent customers - and that they should have such confidence in the place to bring the second in line to the throne for a hassle free night out - was a credit to all of the staff and the way they had turned it around under new management over the last six months, she said.

"We were expecting the Red Arrows but when Prince William walked through the door it was a really nice surprise. It was all really relaxed and comfortable with neither the staff nor the customers making a fuss. Everything was completely natural and he stopped to speak to a couple of the customers."

"He was very much left alone; able to relax and be with his colleagues without any hassle.

"It's a credit to the staff and all the workforce here that the Red Arrows chose us to bring Prince William out for a meal. They wouldn't have sent him somewhere they weren't happy with," said Ms Williams.

Prince William is finalising his training with the RAF at the Central Flying School, RAF Cranwell in readiness to pass out in April
