Thursday, 1.45pm - LINCOLNSHIRE Police has had its council tax capped by the Government after demanding a 78.9 per cent increase.

Local government minister John Healey has today announced this morning that the force will be capped at 26 per cent.

This means that the Lincolnshire Police Authority has to completely reconsider its budgets and reduce its demand on householders - sending out new bills.

The cap means the average family will be around £70 better off this year after initially being charged around £100 more for police services.

The police authority will also have to bear the cost of rebilling every household in the county - estimated at around £500,000.

What do you think to this situation? Are you pleased with the saving or are you concerned about where the cuts will be made to pay for it?
