A WALESBY businesswoman has won the runner-up award at the 2007 Women of Achievement Awards.
Mary Birch of MEB Training, is a member of the Hull ‘Women in Business’ group, which covers Hull, East Yorkshire and North/North East Lincolnshire areas.

Women in Business is a networking organisation for decision-making women and bi-annually organises ‘The Women of Achievement Awards’, established to recognise the talents and excellent work women are achieving in their field, and to reward successful women from around the region.

There are five categories and Mary was nominated for the Established Business Award, presented to reward the commitment and achievement of a woman working in an established business.

The awards were judged by a panel of five independent judges and at the awards ceremony at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel, Hull, 450 guests saw Mary rewarded with the runner-up award in this category.

Guest of honour at the ceremony was musician, author and actress Toyah Wilcox.

Mary said: “I was proud to receive this award with so many worthy contenders. It was an honour to be recognised by my fellow businessmen and women.”
