Emergency services are continuing to deal with a three vehicle road traffic collision in which one person has died and two people have been taken to hospital with injuries.
The collision happened on the A158 between Baumber and Horncastle at around 9.05am this morning, Friday 15 August 2008.

The collision involved a blue Honda HRV travelling towards Horncastle and a silver Vauxhall Vectra travelling in the opposite direction. The two vehicles are believed to have collided head on.

The driver of the blue Honda HRV, a man whose details are yet to be confirmed, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The driver of the silver Vauxhall Vectra sustained neck injuries and is currently on the way to Lincoln County Hospital by ambulance. His passenger, a woman, was taken by air ambulance to Lincoln County Hospital with pelvic and abdominal injuries. None of the injuries to the driver and his passenger are believed to be life threatening at this stage. A black Ford Fiesta was also involved, but not directly and there were no injuries sustained by the driver.

Collision investigation officers are examining the scene. Diversions are now in place between Wragby and Horncastle. Road users are asked to avoid the area for the next three to four hours.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision. Anyone with information should contact the Witness Hotline on 01522 558855.
