A SHOTGUN could be brought out to solve Market Rasen's roosting pigeon nuisance.

District councillor Adam Duguid who was alerted to the problem of pigeon mess under the town's railway bridges by the Rasen Mail in response to a reader's letter, said the responsible officer at West Lindsey, Wayne Lambert, had promised to draw up a plan.
"And I have assured him that if he doesn't I'll get back to him with a shotgun to sort it out," Coun Duguid told town councillors.

Network Rail has installed spikes in the Chapel Street bridge but over Queen Street there is nothing and the resulting mess on the pavement causes great danger.
Coun Chris Padley said the problem seemed to be an easy thing to cure.
