FIVE thousand pounds has been raised for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance with a cook book, created by Lincs FM and sponsored by the Queens Head at Kirkby la Thorpe near Sleaford.
The book is made up of the favourite recipes of the Lincs FM presenters, their resident cook Sally Elkington, staff at the Queens Head and an Air Ambulance pilot.
It was sold at the Queens Head, the Air Ambulance shops across the region and at many Lincs FM events including during the Big Month Out and at the Lincolnshire Show.
Lincs FM's Programme Manager, Katie Tinder said: "I'm so pleased with the response we have had to the recipe book, we've received so many positive comments from people who have tried out the recipes. A lot of hard work went into putting the book together and it's really great to see people enjoying it."
Lincolnshire Fundraiser Vivienne Chambers added: "The Cook Book was a brilliant idea and has proved to be very popular! We are enormously grateful to all those involved in this project. The sale of the book has raised a significant sum of money which will go towards keeping this vital life saving service operational.
"The promotion of the project on air, has also served to highlight the work of the charity. It is absolutely vital that we sustain a high profile and remind people about the work that we do and how we are funded.
On March 7 this year, the Air Ambulance completed their 10,000th mission. The Air Ambulance has now been fully operational for 14 years and a great many people owe their lives to the service - without the support of the community, it would simply cease to exist.
Attending the presentation were presenters and staff of Lincs FM, representatives from the Air Ambulance Charity and staff from the Queens Head at their charity shop, RAF Waddington.
