THE British National Party is putting up a candidate for the county council by-election taking place next Thursday.
Voters in more than 20 villages across the southern Wolds within East Lindsey - including Binbrook, Ludford, South Willingham and Donington on Bain - will go to the polls on Thursday, July 31, to replace Sheila Roy for the county’s Louth Wolds seat. The vacancy was caused by the death of Conservative Mrs Roy in late May.

The candidates are Robert West from Holbeach for the British National Party; Daniel Simpson from Scamblesby, an independent; Michael Alan Preen from Louth for the Labour Party; Eric John Needham from Burwell for the Liberal Democrats; Hugo Marfleet from Tetford for the Conservative Party and Barry Douglas Gleeson from Alvingham for the UK Independence Party.

In total there will be 44 polling stations and the results can be found at www.marketrasenmail.co.uk the next morning, Friday August 1.
