Police have released the name of the young man who died following a three-car road traffic collision, which happened on the A158 between Baumber and Horncastle at around 9.05am on Friday 15 August 2008.

Matthew Alexander Steels-Chambers, 20, from Toft Close, Wainfleet St Mary was driving a blue Honda HR-V towards the Horncastle direction when it was in collision with a silver Vauxhall Vectra travelling in the opposite direction.

Mr Steels-Chambers sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene by attending paramedics.

The 54-year old driver of the Silver Vauxhall Vectra and his 53 year old passenger sustained injuries. Both were cut from the car by fire officers and taken to Lincoln County Hospital where they continue to receive treatment. The driver and passenger of a black Ford Fiesta that was also indirectly involved in the collision were unhurt.

An inquest into Mr Steels-Chambers' death is due to be opened and adjourned by HM Coroner tomorrow, Tuesday 19 August.

Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who saw either vehicle travelling along the A158 prior to the collision at around 9.05am.

Anyone with information should contact the Witness Hotline on 01522 558855.
