This delightful picture of Market Rasen’s Willingham Road was taken around 1910.

It was part of a collection of postcards printed in the Rasen Mail in 1992 by kind permission of the owner, Mr Capes of Welton.

Further down the road on the left is the school, while in the foreground on the right is a shop.

It is difficult to make out the details of the shop, but the 1911 census shows butcher and grocer Arthur Cocking living at 21 Willingham Road, assuming the numbering has remained the same, with his wife Mary and his daughter Irene.
