Tealby WI welcomed Denise Taylor to their June meeting, who gave a talk on The Working of Dogs for the Deaf.
It was an extremely interesting and informative talk and visual show, where she explained the dedication and hard work that goes in to selecting and training suitable dogs for deaf people.
Accompanying Denise was her husband John, who helped in selling gifts associated with this worthwhile charity, and another John, who took along the star of the evening, ‘Poppy’ - his wonderful working dog - who everybody fell in love with and who behaved impeccably.
The group’s next meeting is on July 9 at 7.30pm in the village hall.
This will be an open meeting, entitled ‘Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow.....’, when the speaker will be the Rev Canon Alan D Robson.
New members and visitors will be very welcome.
