The Rev David Leese gave an insight into how the world sees The Nativity at the recent meeting.
There were lots of oohs and arrhs as he showed just a small selection of the vast collection of scenes he has purchased or been given from across the world.
He now has about 160 sets, from tiny figures laid out in matchboxes to child size figures, part of a shop display, as well as more quirky depictions, like the set of rubber ducks, including three with crowns and Mary in her trade mark blue cloak.
The parish of Epworth displays many of David’s collection around the village in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
And every year a full sized thatched stable is erected outside the church filled with live animals, including, of course, a donkey.
