A very successful but sombre evening was held at Rase Heritage Centre, as chairman Caroline Foster presented details of the Market Rasen men who took part and paid the ultimate cost in the Battle of the Somme.

Eight Rasen men were killed on the first day, July 1, 1916, and five more by the end of the month.

The evening raised a total of £61 and all proceeds from the evening have been donated to the British Legion.
