Rain didn’t stop play, but it certainly affected the numbers at this year’s Market Rasen open gardens event.
Nonetheless, there will still plenty of visitors for the 11 gardens on show, which ranged from traditional plots to permaculture.
In the market place, the summer market was the place to pick up some plants, tasty treats from local producers and support local groups.
And the Festival Hall was buzzing with life for the Art Exhibition by the town’s watercolour group and craft stalls showing a range of local talent.
“The rain did affect the event and numbers were certainly down,” said Laurie Povey, a member of Market Rasen Rotary Club, which organised the event.
“I think people planning their weekend had looked at earlier forecasts which gave dreadful weather for Saturday, but actually it was just showers.
“There were quite a number of visitors anyway and they seemed to enjoy the day.”
