Market Rasen and District Bridge Club’s duplicate pairs competition on September 8 produced a most unusual result, three East-West pairs tying for first place on 56.55 per cent.
In all 17 pairs took part in the event, held at Market Rasen Cricket and Social Club.
The September 15 competition was also contested by 17 pairs and produced clear winners for both North-South and East-West pairings.
North-South pairs: 1 Deborah Thomas and Louise Stone 60.44 per cent, 2 Terry Kedgley and Ann Thomson 53.17 per cent, 3 Guy Grainger and Ben Smith 51.59 per cent.
East-West pairs: 1=21 Robin Gulliver and Mal Reynolds 56.55 per cent, 1=22 Ann Painter and Brenda Bassford 56.55 per cent, 1=28 Margaret Barr and Jo Pike 56.55 per cent.
North-South pairs: 1 Dave Worrell and Lo Tolbutt 64.02 per cent, 2 Emer Ward and Mike Clendining 56.08 per cent, 3 Charles Palmer and Robert Handford 55.56 per cent.
East-West pairs: 1 Guy Grainger and Ben Smith 65.77 per cent, 2 Judy Clark and Grace Dobson 57.74 per cent, 3 Ann Thomson and Terry Kedgley 57.44 per cent.
