Make a trip to Sutton on Sea this weekend and take the opportunity to view the garden at Marigold Cottage.
The home of Stephanie Lee and John Raby, it opens for the National Gardens Scheme today, Saturday April 26, and tomorrow, from 2pm to 5pm both days.
Stephanie is an assistant county organiser for Lincolnshire and this is a great plantswoman’s magical seaside garden.
Features include a Japanese bed, planting schemes to excite the palette, and a courtyard with wheelchair-friendly raised beds. There is a vegetable plot, a greenhouse, summerhouse, and a gravel garden.
Visitors will find Stephanie great fun to talk to and a knowledgeable gardener.
Marigold Cottage is in Hotchin Road - from High St facing the sea, turn right at Corner House Café, go along Furlongs Road, round the bend into Hotchin Road and the garden is second on the left.
Admission is £3, children free, and there are home-made teas, plants for sale – small nursery
