DOUBTS remained, back in 1995, over the future of Market Rasen’s rail service.

Lincolnshire County Council and other campaigners were fighting to protect the future of the East Coast line.

Residents had been outraged the previous year when it was announced the Cleethorpes to King’s Cross service would be axed and fears were mounting a further reduction would have a knock-on effect on the town’s remaining local rail service.
