New probus president installed

Market Rasen and District Probus Club held their 31st AGM in the clubhouse at Market Rasen Golf Course, where Laurie Povey was installed as the new president by outgoing president Tony Ammon.

Vice-president for the coming year is Norman McConochie, who is also the outside visits convenor, with Ben smith remaining as secretary, John Frewen-Lord as treasurer, Keith Borst speaker convenor and other committee members John Hadlow, Chris Riley, Tony Ammon.

As a thank you to the Air Ambulance which was called, in emergency, to the club a month ago, £200 was donated to its fund.

Further donations, each of £200, were also made to the Market Rasen greyhound home and the St Luke’s Hospice at Sheffield, where the wife of a member spent her last days.

It was decided subscriptions will rise to £20, but the cost of lunches will remain at £12, and meetings will continue to be held at the golf club for the foreseeable future.
