MARKET Rasen Bridge Club members have raised £120 for Children in Need by taking part in the national CiN Bridge competition which attracted a total of 1,523 pairs throughout Britain.

The event was held on November 17, the Market Rasen heat taking place at Market Rasen Cricket and Football Club.

Highest-placed Market Rasen pairs in the national result were Margaret Sergeant and Vincent Sherliker (157th), and Alan Andrews and Harry Coates (176th).

The local result was (20 pairs): North-South – 1 Margaret Sergeant/Vincent Sherliker 59.72%, 2 Ann Thomson/Terry Kedgley 58.80%, 3 Bob Handford/Charles Palmer 56.94%, 4 Emer Ward/Mike Clendining 56.48%; East-West – 1 Guy Grainger/Ben Smith 59.26%, 2 Alan Andrews/Harry Coates 59.03%, 3 Doreen Dickinson/Bernard Ellis 55.32%, 4 Jo and Don Glozier 54.63%.
