Caistor WI was entertained by Margaret Pearson with a talk entitled “Lincolnshire Snippets”.
She spoke about the Lincolnshire dialect, old remedies and ghost stories, as well as traditional Lincolnshire food, with everyone enjoying some of her Grantham Gingerbread biscuits with their refreshments.
The competition for a Favourite Remedy was won by Jacquie Simmonds, with Margaret Roach coming second and Judith Hewis third.
The flower of the month was won by Linda Mason, with Jenny Foster coming second and Jacquie Simmonds third.
The next meeting will be on March 6 in the town hall at 7.30pm, when Frank Pett will give a talk on ‘Hedgehogs in Trouble’.
