LUNCH and lots of laughter were the vital ingredients of a silver anniversary celebration.
Market Rasen Ladies Luncheon Club marked their quarter of a century at Market Rasen Golf Club, where current members were joined by past presidents, former members and invited guests.
Club president Cecile Povey was also delighted to sign up four new members on the day.
After lunch, Miriam Hunter gave a demonstration of cake decorating, which caused much hilarity when everyone was invited to make a piping bag out of a piece of greaseproof paper and then decorate a muffin – with varying results from those who attempted it.
Sheila Robinson read a poem which had been written by founder member Queenie Spinx to mark the club’s 20th anniversary and everyone raised their glasses to the club’s future.
The club started in 1985, after the town’s Probus Club invited their ladies to get together and the first lunch was held in the April of that year, costing the princely sum of £3.50.
