Caistor is getting ready to blossom, with the help of Carr Lane Nurseries at Stallingborough.

Generously supported by friends of Caistor in Bloom, committee members and Caistor & District Lions, 14 sponsored barrels were replanted ready to be put in place in time for Open Gardens’ event this Sunday, June 16.

RHS judge and East Midlands in Bloom deputy Chairman Sharon Thomas will be visiting Caistor on Sunday to advise on the route and offer tips for all the forthcoming competitions.

Nursery owners John and Jo Clarke have been instrumental in help and advice this year on the bloom in business sponsored planters and baskets as CiB followed advice from last year’s East Midlands in Bloom judge Richard Welburn.

And Post Master and Lion Martin Sizer was delighted with the choice of plants for this year and fascinated by the introduction of herbs into each planter as part of the Incredible Edible Caistor Herb Trail.

“This is a great way to educate families on how to recognise and learn all about herbs while taking a short walk around our lovely town,” he said.
