Community event organisers and charity fundraisers Brigg Lions Club held another successful summer fair in and around Brigg market place.

It was their second event in two months, following quickly on from the traditional May date of the beer festival held at John Reid trucking on Atherton Way.

Face painting was a popular event for children at the summer fair and there was a range of stalls, as well as musical and other fun attractions to occupy all members of the family.

Now a busy year is coming to an end for President Vic Bowness, who is poised to hand over the presidential chain at the club’s
changeover night event at the Black Bull on Friday, June 28.

Speaking at the summer fair Mr Bowness said: “The beer festival and the summer fair have both been a big success when we have been lucky with the dry weather.

“Numbers were slightly down at the beer festival this year, but it went well nonetheless.

“We thank everyone for their support.”

The Lions are once again set to organise their Christmas market alongside the
Christmas lights switch on at the end of the year.
