Wold Singers in Concert

THE WOLD Singers with their new musical director Carole Mundy are in concert at The Angel Suite, Brigg next Wednesday, July 15 at 7.30pm.

Their guest for the evening will be Baritone Ken Carruthers. The line up is completed with the talented Duane Tow as assistant musical director and the accomplished pianist Ann Powell.

Carole has been a member of the singers since 1984, having joined shortly after losing both her parents and she fondly regards the choir as a lifeline at that time.

Over the years she has been chairman, assistant musical director and treasurer, all carried out with dedication and the utmost efficiency.

Since taking over the baton six months ago, Carole has been hard at work with the choir perfecting new numbers for the concert but also including some old favourites from their repertoire.

The evening will feature a journey in song, beginning in Scotland and flying off to faraway places before returning to England for a London Medley.

* Tickets 6 including refreshments, from Brigg Tourist Information Centre on 01652 657053 or call the secretary on 01724 280722.

* The Choir is always open to new members, particularly second sopranos and altos. Rehearsals every Monday at the Old Brumby United Church, Ashby Road, Scunthorpe, 7pm to 9pm. Or to book the Wold Singers call 01724 280722.
