Wimbledon on Bain

Donington on Bain

ANYONE FOR TENNIS - The courts are open for games following refurbishment. The moss was cleaned off, the weeds removed and holes filled before the surface was painted and relined.

A grant of 3700 from the Awards for All Lottery fund covered the full cost of the work and it has been very much appreciated as the surface was becoming slippery.

Non members pay 1 an hour per court if one player is under 16 and 2 an hour per court for over 16s. The key can be collected from Mrs J Ward at the village shop.

DUCK RACE - Arrangements are now being finalised for the duck race at the River Bain in Biscathorpe Park on Saturday July 11, by permission of the Wallis Family, to raise funds for the village hall.

Barbecue and licensed bar.

The Rev Ian and Mrs Carol McGrath will hold a coffee morning on Saturday, July 4 at the rectory, from 10am to noon, all welcome. Nominal charge of 30p for coffee and biscuits together with a small raffle and all proceeds are for the Parish of the Asterby Group.

Emma Hotchin has now raised a further 38 for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance with the help of neighbours and friends who took part in the competitions she organised.
