Anne Brivonese, George Papavgeris and Duncan McFarlane open the new season at Faldingworth Live.

Anne Brivonese, George Papavgeris and Duncan McFarlane open the new season at Faldingworth Live.

THE AUTUMN season of Faldingworth Live starts this weekend with a trio
of talent taking to the stage.

George Papavgeris and Duncan McFarlane, along with Anne Brivonese will be in concert at Faldingworth Memorial Hall from 8pm this Saturday, September 1.

As a performer, George Papavgeris has a unique
singing style – first impressions of gentility and understatement are quickly dispelled by his trademark passion.

As a writer, he is driven by a love of people with all their imperfections, conveying the various issues and concerns with a healthy integrity and a deep folk sensibility.

Now and then he also mirrors the music and rhythms of his native Greece.

Duncan McFarlane is a punchy guitarist in the ‘English folk’ style and offers a set equally split between his own songs and an obvious feel for the tradition which he puts across with lively showmanship.

Anne Brivonese will be joining Duncan on stage, so the audience can look forward to some excellent fiddle playing and harmonising from her.

Doors open at 7.15pm.

Tickets cost £8 and can be booked for payment on the door through Les Worrall on 01673 843036 or e-mail enquire@faldingworthlive.co.uk and Dave Longden on 01673 885369.
