Sleeping Dogz and
Willy go Wild

THE GODFATHER of grunge folk is the latest act to take to the stage of Faldingworth Live.

Wild Willy Barrett’s Sleeping Dogz will be in concert on Saturday, October 6, when the audience is promised an entertaining and original performance from three seriously talented musicians.

Willy Barrett says he isn’t Wild anymore - just Livid, but he is still one the most accomplished multi-instrumentalists working today and plays amazingly dextrous blues, neo-spanish, jazz, rock and folk with aplomb.

But Sleeping Dogz is more than a one-man show: it’s a band.

The classically trained Mary Holland plays cello, keyboards and sings wonderfully, whilst fielding her bandmates’ rather twisted sense of humour, and John Devine matches Barrett’s fluency on uilleann pipes, flute, keyboards and an array of percussion.

Even the most straightforward songs have a twist that makes them special, and for sheer panache you can’t beat playing the slide guitar with an egg.

Support act will be Strummin’ Steve Jackson and doors open at 7.15pm for an 8pm start.

Tickets cost £8 and can be reserved for payment on the door from Les Worrall on 01673 843036, e-mail enquire@faldingworthlive.co.uk, or through Dave Longden on 01673 885369.
