Market Rasen Gardening Club

The number of exhibits was down this year, due to the weather, but judge John Bennett still had plenty to cast his expert eye over.

And the overall winner was Derek Anderson, who also won the vegetable and fruit section.

Helen Andrews won the flower section and also the special class, while Marion Cooper won the best in show.

Two new members were welcomed on the night and thanks were given to Judith and Geoff Barnard for organising the show, as well as to Janet and Derek Anderson for organising the summer trips.

The club’s next meeting will be on Tuesday, October 23, in the Methodist Chapel Schoolroom at 7.15pm, when the speaker will be Lorretta Rivett on Lincolnshire Historical Plants.
