Panto fun at Caistor
Christmas is fast approaching and it’s that time of year where you start to think about which panto to see – Oh yes it is.
And Caistor Amateur Theatrical Society (CATS) has a cracking show for you which everyone at the Rasen Mail is Egg-static about, (no more puns we promise).
Mother Goose is the Panto of choice for CATS this year.
This is an all new, brilliant family pantomime which has great comedy, amazing characters, colourful scenery and costumes, magical special effects and superb music.
This is the brightest and friendliest pantomime in the north of Lincolnshire.
Poor Mother Goose is about to be evicted from her home by the heartless landlord Squire Blackheart, although he is continually thwarted by his hopeless bailiffs Biff and Bash.
Mother Goose’s fortunes take an unexpected turn for the better when her goose, Pricilla, suddenly starts laying eggs of solid gold.
Unfortunately, the sudden wealth goes to Mother Goose’s head and she’s seduced by the lure of magical youth and beauty offered by the wicked Demon Night.
Can she be rescued in time by her sons Jack and Silly Billy, helped by the beautiful Jill and the resourceful Wizard Day? Will good triumph of Evil?
Well, it’s a panto so it’s sure to work out well in the end.
Preparations for the show are going well. Pictured from left is Silly Billy (Estelle Forsythe), Jack (Emily South), Pricilla the Goose (Tim Wilton), Jill (Jayne Millburn), Mother Goose (William Smith) and Demon Night (Alan Crookes)
Performances are from Wednesday November 28 to Saturday December 1 at 7.30pm each evening with a matinee on Saturday starting at 2.30pm.
Tickets (£6 for adults and £5 for concessions)are on sale in person at Caistor Post Office, or alternately reserve your ticket by phone on 01472 851212 (please leave a message on the answer phone).
An extra special performance will be staged on Tuesday November 27 for over 60s only.
Free admission, courtesy of Caistor and District Lions Club.
This is only the third time CATS have performed Mother Goose as its Christmas show since the group formed in 1991.
But if the success of CATS last few productions, Aladdin, Glee and Caistor’s Last Cruise, are anything to go by, this is sure to be a great night out.
Since forming the group has produced a total of 50 different productions. Its current membership stands at approximately 50 adults and youngsters
