Musical show is a big hit with Brigg audience
Lead parts on stage in Brigg Operatic Society's production of Carousel.
Brigg Operatic Society’s week long production of Carousel was a superb mix of song and dance from start to finish.
Memorable songs and musical numbers characterise this much loved opera by Rodgers and Hammerstein with ‘You’ll never Walk alone’ a moving highlight.
The lead roles came from three excellent singers, namely Katie Graham as Julie Jordan, Terrie-Anne Heseltine as Carrie Pipperidge and Trudie Jackson as Nettie Fowler. Newcomer to the society, Amy Jacklin, 13, played an key part as Louise Jordan, as well as being a member of the chorus and dancers.
Lindsay Pepper as Billy Bigelow performed his role colourfully showing his natural ability in both singing and acting, while Dave Arrand played the part of Carrie’s ‘fella’ Enoch Snow to perfection. Who could forget the lilting melody of ‘When the children are asleep’, sung by Carrie and Mr. Snow.
The final scene at the graduation ceremony saw Trudie Fowler giving that memorable rendition of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ joined by the whole cast in a wonderful finale.
